Our high-performing makeup and skincare products do not exploit animals. We are certified cruelty-free by PETA and Choose Cruelty Free Australia. Our formulations & ingredients are not tested on animals. Our commitment to be cruelty-free influences all of our decisions. From our formulations, ingredients and suppliers – this is at the heart of our brand. If a new trend in cosmetics is announced – and it comes from an animal, we let it pass by and wait for the trend to end. There is always a plant-based alternative that gets the same results. And if a new ingredient has been tested on animals – we say, No Thank you. We don’t want the beauty industry to inflict harm on animals, and we know you don’t want that either. When you choose us, you can be sure that our supply chain is free of cruelty to animals.
After the mayhem of Black Friday, Green Monday is about to hit. Black Friday has become a great platform for consumers to save on goods offered on sale on that day, and Green Monday is following suit. Usually the second Monday in December, we thought we’d challenge ourselves (and maybe you!) to use this day to purchase goods with a ‘green’ focus. This can mean many things – ethical sourcing, local, sustainable products, environmentally aware design, cruelty free – however you interpret this. We all consume a lot, from food, household goods, clothes, entertainment, advertising, social media, travel, transport, it’s at the centre of our lives! We thought Green Monday 2017 would be a good opportunity to see if we can use the day to look at what we purchase and consume. The more we consume, the more we buy, the more resources we are using.
Pachamama is the goddess of fertility, generosity and the feminine in Andean cultures in Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. In Quechua and Aymara, ‘pacha’ is the word for the world, cosmos, time and space, while ‘mama’ means mother, making ‘Mother Earth’ a common English translation. The Sydney Latin American Film Festival created the Pachamama Festival in 2014 as a platform for people from diverse cultural backgrounds to renew their connections to nature, in a world seemingly at war with nature. It begins as a blank canvas each year and is filled by offerings of music, film, dance, food and storytelling in celebration and respect for a living earth that sustains us.
