bold makeup

Ben Dniprowskij began dancing at the age of 3. Born in Melbourne, he discovered his interest in makeup watching all the girls having it applied, but it wasn’t until he developed a skin condition as a teenager that he really discovered the power of makeup. After 6 years of working in a hair salon, Ben decided to become a makeup artist. He learned from YouTube videos and three years later – his achievements included winning the Make Up for Ever Pro contest where he learnt to body paint in Paris, becoming the face of a MAC Cosmetics global campaign, having his work featured in magazines such as Vogue, Schon, The impression and KaltBlut. He then entered a new era where he has become contributing editor of Lauds new magazine endeavor, Laud Unleashed. Ben had found his passion and was living his dream!

natural blush

Genna Di Giovanna is a makeup artist based in New York. She lives a plant-based lifestyle and uses natural products in all aspects of her life, including beauty, health and clothing. It was an obvious choice for us to mesh this natural way of living with the use of natural cosmetics. She recently tried the Ere Perez skincare and makeup and was inspired to create this “natural blush look”. “First things first, skincare. I used the Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar on clean skin before any makeup is applied. I really love the way this hydrates the skin. I used this first to get the skin looking lush and dewy. After that I used the Quinoa Water foundation – Haze. This foundation is super light. If you’re the type of person that prefers a sheer foundation, I highly recommend this one. Next up, the Arnica Concealer – Latte. This everyday concealer blends nicely into the skin. For my cheeks the Carrot Colour Pot – Harmony pot gave me just enough colour for a natural blush …

rituals for travel

Emmie Rae is a yoga teacher, writer & rest advisor who believes the first step in creating a life that lights you up is by first learning how to create a daily practice of rest & relaxation. She shares with us her essential in-flight beauty tips..  “So there are people who can fly halfway across the world on a redeye flight and walk off the plane looking exactly the same as when they walked on. I am not one of these people. Last year I did a lot of international, long haul travel. In an attempt to leave that plane even remotely resembling what I looked (and felt) like when I got on, I researched, experimented and carefully devised a routine, a ritual, a set of easy to follow, light to pack in the carry-on steps. And guess what; It works. Take the makeup off. ALL of it. Just do it. And no, you don’t have to walk around departures totally make-up free, scared you’ll bump into an ex. This is what you do. Soak …

movement and meditation

Ryan Henson is an internationally certified movement therapist and movement educator, he has worked with people of all ages and demographics to facilitate the journey of ’embodiment’. This process ultimately allows individuals to feel truly comfortable within their own skin and enlivens the human experience.  “I am beyond fascinated by the human body, I am utterly obsessed. Even when I sit in meditation, with my body still, with my mind quiet – I can still feel my lungs breathing me, my heart beating me, my blood flowing and providing nourishment for each and every cell in my body. It is in these moments that I intuitively know that movement is life, and that life cannot exist without movement. How cool is that! My own personal practice consists of finding the places within myself that are lacking this inherent movement and helping to integrate those parts back into the whole of me.  How I do this differs from day to day, most days I have a solid meditation/ yoga practice, some days I just let loose and …
